These photos appeared in The Gilbert News, Volume 14, No. 1, January-February 1954.  They were most likely taken in mid to late 1949 and early 1950, when the layout was under contstruction and Gilbert was in a race to be ready with their new layout for the 1950 toy fair.   They show far more than just the status of the construction project.  They show some of the individuals involved in building it.   While I haven't been able to identify all of the people, most are identifiable.   If you can help identify any of these individuals, please let me know at flyerdisplays@att.net
