The Eastern States Exposition is a combined state fair for the 6
New England states, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New
Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. It has been called "The Big E",
but not in the days of the A.C. Gilbert Co. According to
Wikipedia, it is the largest agricultural event on the East coast
and the seventh largest state fair in the country. During its
years of operation, the A. C. Gilbert Company was apparently a
mainstay of this event. The Ray Mohrlang Collection of
photographs contains many photos of this event, not all of which can
be identified. Initial examination and research related to
these photos has revealed that they cover four layouts from the
years, 1948, 1952, 1959, and 1963. Click on the photo at
