This photo shows Toby at the controls of the layout in front of the elevated section of the layout.  A tunnel is located on the lower level at the lower right of the photo.  On the other versions of this layout, the elevated area was used to display the latest buildings or to run a loop of Gilbert HO.   In this photo there appears to be a loop of HO track and a display of buildings.   The presence of the HO track and the fact that HO is not featured in the TV program, leads to the conclusion that the studio layout was not built specifically for the production of the TV show, but may have served other purposes, either before or after the production of the show.
