N.Y. World's Fair - 1939

The New York World's Fair of 1939 was a major event and
railroads were well represented. In the section on the
F.A.O. Schwarz Layout, we noted the
contribution of that layout's designer, Billi Bowen, to the displays
at that fair. Billi's work for the fair appears to be his
major employment at that time because he is listed on the 1940
census as a builder of
railroad exhibits. Whether he played a part in these American
Flyer Exhibits cannot be established, but I believe it is a
possibility. If anyone has any information to add,

In any case, these are remarkable exhibits which show case Gilbert's recently introduced line of 3/16 inch scale O gauge trains, as well as his HO line. They were obtained from the Ray Mohrlang Collection and were scanned at high resolution. Enlargements of the photos show remarkable details.
