Gilbert Paper from the Ray Mohrlang Collection
This two page spread appeared in The Toy Yearbook for 1950 and 1951.
The yearbook appears to be a cooperative advertising device used by
smaller retailers which was arranged through a trade organization
for these stores. This particular sample comes from
Koehlinger's Toy Store in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Initial research
indicates that Koehlinger's, which was also know as Koehlinger's
Hobbytown had stores in several midwest cities.
This ad was no doubt the ad that preceded the introduction of the
first smoking locomotives in March of 1946
